Department of Hindi started in the year of 2009 under the University of Burdwan and got the sanction got Honours in 2016 under Kazi Nazrul University. The intake capacity for program course is 150 and for honours 30 students. The faculty members of the academic session 2015-2016 were Dr. Bijendra Kumar (HOD), Prof. Meena Kumari, Dr. Renu Roy, and Dr. Bijay Kumar Choubey. The department has an optimum number of books in the seminar library (45) and a central library (300) for both learning and lending purposes. The final result of the same academic year for the general course was 67.1%.
